This year I began to focus on Human Design which led me to investigate more deeply into the I Ching.
Human Design is a quick way to glance at our energy dynamics and the creative force that we bring into this incarnation, but to speak directly with Divinity, or our Soul, whatever name we give the energy, Human Design provides definitions and not methods of creatively exploring our intuition.
Even the astrological transits that Human Design uses, shifting from gate to gate, only provide definitions (from neutrinos), which can satisfy the mind to a degree, but I do not acknowledge this a clear way to connect with the energy in regards to personal life happenings or self guidance because remembrance of our True Self will reveal our unique core vibration that we carry into this life, which we all discover through spiritual unfoldment.
Over the past month, I have learned and practiced the I Ching coin toss with the Hexagrams. Initially, I used simple questions and looked for patterns, but eventually I began to ask more questions that go much deeper with responses toward my life path.
To explore the coin toss divination, first I had to become more familiarized with the Eight Trigrams. I studied these ancient symbols and also the Eight Immortals that are the archetypes for the Trigrams. My goal was to embody these symbols and build a relationship with these energies.
Next, there are the Four Faces of God and the Pair of Affinities.
With the Trigrams, these are most important with the coin toss because of oppositions and corresponding relationships. For example, Lake over Water could mean the reservoir has already drained and there is nothing to give in the life situation that keeps demanding returns.
To explore Lake over Water even more is to reference the Hexagram which provides an overall theme of the energy and this can be described by the Oracle. Click on the image to enlarge:
In continuation of the example for Lake over Water, we have the following Hexagram which is Yin-Yang-Yin-Yang-Yang-Yin:
The Oracle speaks of this Hexagram as, "Ambitions come to a stop and there is a feeling of exhaustion, worn down, being overwhelmed and unable to cope in current circumstances."
"There are barriers of entry to the next stage of advancement and forces will cause the sense of isolation, being closed off, and a state of inner oppression."
"Do not let external forces restrain you, but you must restrain yourself. Control what you can control and cultivate an inner strength that becomes and outer strength, then you can shatter the iron hand that is otherwise holding you back."
The Oracle spoke in a generalized way, but now what? How can we use the coins to further our insight on the more guided path from our life experience that seems to have created a blockade (or barrier).
We can by using the 6 lines of the Hexagram, which we will explore in part 2 of the I Ching, Coin Toss Divination.
